Photo From Our Muppet Inspired Film, "The Block Party"
This is a still shot from the student Film, "The Block Party" Inspired by Jim Henson, the children designed and sewed together their own Muppet-like characters for this film. They also designed and built their own stage set. In this film, the children tell a story about how taking care one's neighborhood is extremely important. No matter where we live, the story encourages young people to do what they can do to respect and care for their own environment.

YAY! On August 18th 2011, Spring School Students Were Celebrated by the Penguin Group for their Film Adaptation of "Corduroy" by Don Freeman!
Spring School After School Program students stand out in front of 345 Hudson Street in New York City … the headquarters of The Penguin Group. These children were the main characters and writers of the Student Film Adaptation of “Corduroy” by Don Freeman. The children were invited by Ms. Joy Peskin the Associate Editor of Penguin Group to learn about the process of picture book publication first hand. The children were greeted by Ms. Peskin and staff. The children were given wonderful gifts of books and other fun learning material. The children ate delicious homemade cookies and got to preview and review new children’s books hitting the market next year. They were so excited and grateful to be recognized for their work on the film. They inspire us all!Sunday, July 3, 2011
